The theme of the museum’s permanent exhibition: the Liangzhu Archaeological Site is a sacred place to showcase the 5,000-year-old Chinese civilization. The Liangzhu civilization dates back to about 5,300-4,300 years ago. More than 600 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics from the period of Liangzhu civilization were unearthed so far, such as jade artefacts, stone vessels, pottery and lacquered wood wares. With the three exhibition halls of “the Early Wetland State”,”A Sacred Place of Civilization”,and “Jade as the Spiritual Symbol of the State”, the exhibition displays the archaeological achievements and heritage value of Liangzhu Archaeological Site and Liangzhu Culture in a comprehensive, three-dimensional and authentic way, and reflects the important position and unique contribution of Liangzhu civilization in the “diversified and unified” development process of Chinese civilization.
