On July 6, 2019, the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List at the 43rd World Heritage Convention. It is China’s 55th World Heritage Site. With its inscription onto the World Heritage List, the number of China’s world heritage sites now ranks No.1 in the world.
The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City is located in Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, about 30km northwest of Hangzhou City, and about 60km away from Xiaoshan International Airport. It has a total planning area of 14.33km2, which is divided into four areas: City Site, Yaoshan Site, Low-dam on the Plain—Causeway in front of the Mountains and High-dam at the Mouth of the Valley.
