Archaeological studies show that the agriculture during the period of Liangzhu Culture has entered the age of plowing with very developed rice-farming. From 2010 to 2012, archaeologists found a large amount of carbonized rice in a shallow pit on the eastern slope of the Mojiaoshan Palace in the Liangzhu Ancient City, which, after analysis, amounted to about 26,000 jin. In 2017, another pile of carbonized rice was found at the Chizhongsi site, which was conservatively estimated to weigh at least 200,000kg. In order to show the rice-farming civilization in the Liangzhu period and inherit the wisdom of labor of the Chinese nation, Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City Park is holding the Liangzhu Rice Fragrance Festival every year in golden autumn as thousands of mu of rice fields inside and outside the ancient city are ripe. Many visitors come to enjoy the autumn scenery of the ancient city, experience farm work in rice fields, and feel the joy of harvest. Visitors can put on gloves and pick up sickles to experience the harvest as farmers. Through such experience, visitors can fully understand Liangzhu Culture and bring home the Liangzhu rice they harvest in bottles.
